IEEE Latin-American Conference on Communications
30 November–2 December 2022 // Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Author Instructions

Camera-ready upload, copyright form, and author registration must be completed by: October 21, 2022

Papers are reviewed on the basis that they do not contain plagiarized material and have not been submitted to any other conference at the same time (double submission). These matters are taken very seriously and the IEEE Communications Society will take action against any author who has been engaged in either practice. Please see the IEEE Web Page on Plagiarism and the IEEE Web Page on Double Submission.

1) Format the final version of your paper

Please read the reviews and follow the reviewers’ recommendations for revising your final paper. To guarantee good quality proceedings contents, your paper must comply with the IEEE Latin-American Conference on Communications 2022 paper specifications.

The MS Word template can be obtained here.

Latex templates can be obtained here.

Bibliography files can be obtained here.

When working in Overleaf, the template is available here.

In particular, this means:

Paper length is limited to 6 double column pages.

Use two-columns IEEE Conference Proceedings style in a 10-point-font, US letter page

Latex users must follow the conference_101719.tex example included in the Latex template. You must also use the following command \documentclass[10pt,conference]{IEEEtran}. Moreover, use IEEEtran.bst included in the Bibliography file as reference style.

(Note: with IEEE conferences, the author affiliation is listed under the author’s name, unlike IEEE transactions)

  • PDF format only is accepted
  • Do NOT use page numbers, headers, or footers on your manuscript
  • Do NOT apply security settings to your PDF file
  • Do NOT include hyperlinks in the document (e.g., clickable web site addresses in the references)

2) Generate Xplore-compatible PDF format paper

IEEE is very strict about the requirements for converting application files or PostScript files to full-text PDF for inclusion in IEEE Xplore. IEEE Xplore Requirements for PDF will be enforced. All conference articles submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore must be in Xplore-compatible PDF format. To verify/obtain your camera-ready Xplore-compatible paper, follow the instructions below:

Log in to the IEEE PDF eXpress site (https://ieee-pdf-express.org/)

First-time users should do the following:

Select the “New Users – Click here” link

Enter the following:

56090X for the Conference ID

Your email address

A password

Continue to enter information as prompted

An Online confirmation will be displayed and an email confirmation will be sent verifying your account setup.

Previous users of PDF eXpress need to follow the above steps, but should enter the same password that was used for previous conferences. Verify that your contact information is valid.

After executing all steps, you will obtain an Xplore-compatible PDF that must be submitted on JEMS.

3) Submit PDF on JEMS

Submit your Xplore-compatible PDF on JEMS.

4) IEEE e-copyright form

Authors of accepted papers must complete the IEEE eCopyright Form. One copyright form is required for each accepted paper.

The electronic copyright form can be accessed via JEMS by selecting the “My Papers” tab, then selecting the paper title, and finally clicking on the button corresponding to the “copyright form” field. This will walk you through a series of steps. Make sure that the title/author list is exactly as in your final camera-ready paper.
